P-Slam: A Poetic Journey Through the Psalms - Worship

January 10 & 11 - Psalms spur us to worship together

Core Scripture: Psalm 67:1-7

Memory Verse:
John 4:24 (NIV) "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth."

Discussion Question:
  • How was this Psalm intended to be used?
  • Why is it important for us to sing together? How does corporate worship remind us who God is? How does it help us celebrate God?
  • How does worship together help the people around us? How does it help us personally?
  • How can we integrate corporate worship in our lives? How does church help us do this? In what other outlets can we do this?
Bottom Line:
  • This Psalm is a powerful statement of praise, and it was made more powerful because it was sung together. This Psalm spurs us to worship together, and this Spiritual Discipline of corporate worship deepens our faith and leads us to trust and love God even more.
  • We need to pay attention to the words we're singing. When one of these words catches our attention, we need to take a moment to let it resonate in our soul so that we are reminded together of who God is.
  • God is worthy of worship, and we are in need of worshiping someone. So as we worship together, let's remember how good God is and celebrate Him together.
