Discussion Questions:
- Have you ever heard the saying, “Sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me”? Do you think this saying is true? Why or why not?
- Think of a time when someone said something to you that you’ve never forgot – positive or negative. Why do you think you never forgot what was said to you?
- Do you think the words you use are generally more positive or negative? Do you think they affect or life at all – whether they are positive or negative?
- Read Proverbs 18:21. What does the verse mean when it says “they who indulge in it shall eat the fruit of it”?
- Do you think it is important for you to hear YOURSELF saying God’s Word? Why?
- Share a time in your life when you have decided to confess God’s Word over a situation and you saw the positive results from it.
Bottom Line:
Our Words have power, the power of death and life. Speaking the Word of God in your life has power. As you hear yourself speak God’s Word your faith will grow. As you confess the Word, your confidence in God and His Word will grow to the point where your faith will be at a place that you can believe God for whatever you need in your life.
